The team were recently in Balnarring Beach installing gorgeous Smartstone Calacatta Manhattan kitchen benchtops and splashbacks in a new construction. We fabricated the benchtops to 55mm with mitred edges, waterfall ends and undermounted sink.

Calacatta Manhattan is a new surface from Smartstone's Toledo Collection, and is perfect for Hamptons and French Provincial kitchens. This surface is rich, yet subtle, featuring dramatic veining with gold accents on a luminous creamy white background. Available in a range of profile sizes in a polished finish. Westernport Stoneworks recently completed this kitchen benchtop renovation in Frankston Sth. We removed the benchtops, cut down the servery and disconnected the cooker, sink and tapware. We then installed Red Multicolour granite benchtops and splashbacks and reinstalled the cooker, sink and taps. The benchtops are 40mm with a bull profile and polished finish. The team were recently in Mornington assisting in a kitchen renovation. We pulled out the existing 1990's 30mm granite benchtops, cut out the servery, disconnected the sink and cook top and installed the new benchtops we had fabricated in Silestone Altar 15. The benchtops have 40mm with mitred edges, undermounted sink and waterfall ends.

Here's another look at the new construction we're working on in Sorrento. This project involved the manufacture and installation of Zimbabwe black honed granite for a vanity benchtop, as shown above. This granite was also installed in the kitchen bench tops and splash backs and used on the fireplace hearth.

So what is honed granite? We manufacture granite in a range of finishes to suit your individual project and the look and feel you're going for in the room. Honed finishes are very popular at the moment as they give a softer, more natural look to the stone. The surface achieved can vary from low sheen, through to a completely dull, matt finish, and the texture can vary from smooth to rough, depending on the length of the manufacturing polishing process. The granite is finished to a dull, smooth surface that has little to no reflection, but can decrease the depth of the colour of the stone.
