Tundra Blue limestone kitchen in Toorak

Tundra Blue limestone kitchen in Toorak

We're back in Toorak finishing off the limestone installations we've been working on, this time the huge new kitchen. We fabricated Tundra Blue limestone benchtops to a thickness of 85mm, with a honed finish and mitred edges and joins. We also fabricated limestone display panels under the breakfast bar and island, which give a finished look from the adjoining living areas. The owner also requested we fabricate a limestone splash back shelving unit and this takes the kitchen to a whole new level in terms of individualised luxury.

We recommend sealing the limestone 4 times a year to protect it from stains and ensure it looks stunning for years to come. Calacatta marble bathroom renovation Shoreham

Calacatta marble bathroom renovation Shoreham

Westernport Stoneworks are back for the new year and fabricated and installed calacatta marble into a bathroom renovation in Shoreham. The project included full bath surround with mitred corners and joins, vanity benchtop, splash back and custom cabinet benchtops on either side of the fireplace. You'll agree the marble veining is the star in these slabs, we make the most of it by ensuring high quality workmanship (notice how we took the time to match the veining and make sure it was all running in the same direction!), this extra detail always delivers a stunning result. There's no point paying top dollar for high end finishes if they're not fabricated and installed correctly. Although these are low traffic areas, we recommend sealing the marble twice a year to keep it beautiful for years to come.

Neptune Limestone bathroom in Toorak

Last project before Christmas. The team were recently in Toorak installing Neptune Limestone into a bathroom renovation. We installed the limestone to all the niches, vanity bench tops, window surrounds and wall capping and, together with the glass tiles, think it looks fabulous. Limestone needs to be sealed to keep it looking its best, but is perfect in low traffic areas like bathrooms.

Check out the other images from this project below and contact us for a quote to have limestone fabricated and installed in your next project. We work with builders, architects, design professionals and home owners.

Zimbabwe Black honed granite kitchen benchtops Rye

Craig Metcalf - Thursday, October 25, 2018

The team from Westernport Stoneworks recently installed Zimbabwe Black honed granite benchtops into a new kitchen in Rye. The granite was fabricated to 50mm with mitred edges, with a soft honed, matt finish. For strength and good looks that will last the distance it doesn't get much better than granite for commercial and industrial applications, both indoors and outdoors.

Rugged Concrete™ Caesarstone kitchen benchtops Hastings

Craig Metcalf - Wednesday, October 17, 2018

The team recently installed the latest Rugged Concrete™ Caesarstone kitchen benchtops into a renovation in Hastings, fabricated to 40mm with mitred edges. Rugged Concrete is colour 4033 from the Classico range and has the authentic look of a hand poured concrete benchtop and blends well with neutral palettes that soften its raw industrial edge. Each slab is individually unique due to dramatic gradients of grey textural patterns, with a white haze patina and rough matt finish.

Daily care and maintenance of Rugged Concrete™ is similar to other Caesarstone surfaces, however, the rough low reflective matt finish is more susceptible to everyday marks and spills as it doesn't disguise them as well as polished designs, meaning extra care and more regular cleaning may be required to keep it looking its best. A range of wipes and cleaning products are available from Caesarstone, and this FAQ states it's extremely important that Caesarstone Concrete benchtops are only ever wiped down using a clean cloth solely for that purpose. Using a cloth used to wash dishes may impart oils and other contaminants onto the concrete surface.

Custom Tundra Blue limestone fireplaces in Toorak

Craig Metcalf - Monday, September 24, 2018

We were recently in Toorak installing two stunning custom fireplace surrounds. Both fireplaces are honed limestone, the colour being Tundra Blue, custom fabricated giving a soft matt finish. Tundra Blue limestone has rich grey shades that can vary with blue-black tones and has an overall harmonious pattern with subtle background areas of taupe. The first was a custom fireplace surround with routed and mitred joins and a display ledge at one end, pictured above.

The second was a custom fireplace surround with routed and mitred joins and an integrated TV space at one end. Very cool! Now we want one too ;) The picture above gives you a good look at the gorgeous colour variations within the stone. The team are very proud of their efforts on this project!

Contact the team for all your custom fireplace surround needs, we'll work with you to design and fabricate your dream piece, for both inside or outside areas, that you'll be able to show off for years to come.
